I honestly can not remember a time that I was not overweight.  As a freshman, I was fighting to stay under 275lb's so I could wrestle.  I was over 285lb's when I joined the team.  Even though I was such a large person, I did not have the strength or endurance to do well in sports.  When I was a senior in high school, I weigh 305lb's. became very strong, but was very insecure of my looks in my mid section.  I thought that training meant that I could eat or drink about anything in any amount.  Actually, I though that it was fun when I was going through school to see how much the scale had gone up.  Even thought that it was normal to wear a 3X shirt or  shorts.  I knew I was much bigger than others, but never thought about the consequences for my health.  Being the "Big Guy" to everyone felt good.

I did realize a few years after school and college that I needed to change.  I always enjoyed working out, but never lost weight, and would just keep eating.  It was what I thought was right.  I would lose some weight here and there, but would easily gain it back, plus some more.  I maxed the scale at 346lb's.

Waking up at 1am one morning with a heart arythmia and being rushed to the hospital, still did not "wake" me up.  In 2008 I was 287lb's and 48 pant size, and even though my weight had dropped from work, I was in poor flabby shape.  I joined Fit 24/7, thinking that I would just work out and do what I've always have done, EAT and LIFT.  A few months of just lifting made no changes.  I thought I knew what to do to be in shape.  "I KNEW NOTHING!"

PLEASE, do realize that "what" you consume means more than what you do.  Yes, I train hard, run now (a lot) and love it, but without knowledge of how to live and remain in a health state, you will do like I had, and stay in the same shape.  I am extremely thankful for my trainer, friend, and running partner, Talita Argenio, for helping me see how to train and remain in shape.  From 346lb's to 221lb's, inbetween size 34 and 36, 5 Half Marathons, numerous 5k's and more to come.  I know that YOU CAN DO IT!!  Self-esteem, confidence and out look on life is what YOU make it to be.  Mine is now AWESOME!!!!
